Dear The Farmer’s Dog Hiring Team,

I am writing to express my interest in the Talent and Development Manager position at The Farmer’s Dog. My career has increasingly centered around a question that also sits at the heart of this role: how can organizations create environments where employees feel equipped, engaged, and empowered to perform at their best? Through my experience in learning and development, luxury retail, and organizational communication, I have developed a passion for building thoughtful employee experiences that translate organizational goals into meaningful development opportunities.

Currently, I serve as a Retail Onboarding Coordinator at Christian Dior Couture, where I support the development and execution of training and onboarding initiatives for retail employees. I create training materials, digital learning content, and resources for LMS integration and new tool rollouts while coordinating training logistics and onboarding programs. I also compile course completion and engagement reporting for senior regional and global stakeholders, translating data into actionable insights that help inform program effectiveness and future development.

My previous experience as a Client Relations Coordinator at Hermès of Paris further shaped my approach to employee and organizational development. In addition to delivering a highly personalized client experience, I supported new hires through structured shadowing and mentorship. This experience showed me firsthand how clear expectations, thoughtful coaching, and strong manager relationships can influence an employee’s confidence, engagement, and overall performance.

My professional experience is complemented by my graduate studies in Communication and Information Sciences with an emphasis in Organizational Leadership. Through this work, I have focused extensively on employee engagement, management communication, leadership, and organizational effectiveness. This combination of academic research and hands-on experience has strengthened my ability to understand employee needs, communicate complex information clearly, and approach talent initiatives with both a people-centered and data-informed perspective.

I am especially drawn to The Farmer’s Dog’s willingness to challenge traditional approaches and continuously improve how work gets done. I would welcome the opportunity to bring my experience in learning and development, program coordination, employee communication, and organizational leadership to a team focused on creating meaningful experiences that help both employees and the organization grow.

Thank you for your time and consideration. I would be excited to discuss how my experience and perspective could contribute to The Farmer’s Dog and its evolving Talent Management strategy.

With Gratitude,

Hannah Cochrane
